Chappaquiddick

I remember
Sitting shotgun the radio on
Just the house to the church no it wouldn’t last long
But it was nice that we could talk

And I remember looking at you but you couldn’t see
And I thought to myself that you’re so much like me
Except I would never cheat

You said you brought me to this world
And you could take me out
I ran to my room, built a fort
But you took the blankets down
All I ever wanted was
For you to say I’m enough
But is that too much

Where were you
You let me drown
Water through
Windows down
Put your kid in the ground
You didn’t care that I was sick
You let me drown in Chappaquiddick

I remember
Calling you cause I needed to talk to my dad
I was ready to call it unless you could say that you loved your son
but you were negligent like you always were like you always have been
why should I expect anymore

You said you brought me to this world
And you could take me out
I ran to my room, built a fort
But you took the blankets down
All I ever wanted was
For you to say I’m enough
But is that too much

Where were you
You let me drown
Water through
Windows down
Put your kid in the ground
You didn’t care that I was sick
You let me drown in Chappaquiddick

oooooo
